PE3_iMovie
So one of the most exciting features about iMovie is the voiceover feature. As a children's storyteller, it's important to be able to have many tools to illustrate a story. I see so many opportunities to turn a storybook into a multimedia wonder. The feature is also a great tool for teachers to get students to practice their reading skills. Students can create their own stories with illustrations and narrate the story in iMovie. The possibilities are endless.

Ok so here's a short video of Baba (father in Swahili) reading a bedtime story to our children. As you can see the twins, both sets are very sleepy. I enjoyed created this video and feel inspired to create more. This video was very simple. After my iMovie training, I plan to create more complex videos. I have so many story ideas, I can use to iMovie. I'm also super excited about playing more with iMovie so that I can demonstrate to teachers the power of digital storytelling.

So, I’m excited I no longer have to spend extra time figuring out how to use iMovie. I’m now well versed in the ways of iMovie. I really like Lynda.com. I’m excited about other tools I can learn on the site. The iMovie training was easy to understand and follow. Chow, the iMovie11 trainer was thorough and worked at an easy pace. I like the fact that the videos were short. I became really excited about the creating trailers feature. I look forward to playing more with iMovie.

BP2_Little Bird Tales.
The web 2.0 tool I ‘ve chosen is called Little Bird Tales. After creating a free account users are able to create a one of a kind treasure that can be shared online. The creators of Little Bird Tales wanted to create a safe web environment for children that allows them to use their imagination and creativity through tales. In addition, the founders of Little Bird Tales wanted to create a site that embraced a love for writing, reading and the environment.
The process for creating a tale through Little Bird Tales is easy. Once users create an account, they follow 3 simple steps. First children click on the Create a Tale button. Then they create a New Cover Tale by either uploading an image/file or drawing a cover directly onto the Little Bird Tales website. Next, children can record audio to accompany their image, art, etc… Then users title the tale and type in the author. Users can add several pages by continuing to create images or uploads files and audio. Finally, children can share their tales with anyone via email and purchase the tale for .99 cents.
I enjoyed the process of creating a tale. I found the web tools simple, easy to use and easy to share. As a children’s storyteller, mom and educator I see the value of having a tool such as Little Bird Tales. It’s a great way to extend a lesson, by having students create their own stories. It’s also a great center activity. Teachers and parents can use this tool to help students improve their written and oral communication skills. I think it’s also a way to help build confidence in students because they can share their work with their peers, family, members and teacher. Children can also access and purchase other users tales.

BP1_Welcome to my blog.
Welcome to first blog post! I'm excited because I don't get into blogging that often...I haven't really blogged or added much to other's blogs. This should be an interesting process.
I think this blog will be for mom's with multiple multiples. In other words this blog will be for mom's with several sets of multiples (twins, triplets, quadruplets,etc..) It will be a space for other mom's like me to share tips, advice, stories, recipes, challenges, solutions, and general parenting tips for raising multiples.
